Wesley Snipes Won’t Be Asked Back For MCU Blade Reboot

Wesley Snipes knows a thing or two about hunting vampires, but he doesn’t think he’ll be to be asked to make an appearance in the new MCU Blade film.

As reported by Digital Spy, the actor who donned the leather coat of the iconic vampire hunter for the original trilogy doesn’t think he’ll be asked to make an appearance in the new Blade film.

The film, which has Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali attached in the lead role, has recently landed a director in Mogul Mowgli‘s Bassam Tariq.

Ever since the new Blade film was announced back in 2019, rumours have been rife as to whether Snipes would be involved in the new project.

While the actor has said that he’d love to speak to MCU boss Kevin Feige, he remained coy on the subject in a recent interview saying:

“I wish Mahershala the best with the Blade remake. Because they’re re-doing Blade and Mahershala Ali, we did True Detective together and he’s an amazing actor. So I wish him the best with that.”

While it is still very early days in Blade’s production, and given that the MCU likes a good cameo, there’s still time for Snipes to appear in the film in some capacity.

However, regardless of whether he cameos in the film, Snipes’ respect for Ali is crystal clear, meaning he will not drive a stake through the heart of the new Blade film.
