Die Hard TV Show Rumoured To Be In The Works

It’s being rumoured that a Die Hard TV show is in the works, however, the rumour is that it’s in the works for Netflix.

This left me scratching my head slightly because Die Hard is now one of the many franchises owned by Disney.

Disney acquired the rights to the Die Hard franchise when they purchased 20th Century Fox.

Right, so where does this rumour come from?

It comes from Giant Freakin Robot.

They can be a bit hit and miss on these things.

However, they have been right about some things in the past.

There were some rumours that there was a young John McClane movie in the works a while back.

However, those rumours went cold when Disney purchased Fox.

We then heard that a TV show was in the works but for Disney Plus.

Could a Die Hard TV show be in the works for Netflix?

This made more sense to me, and it just made more sense when Disney Plus unveiled STAR.

STAR is the area of Disney Plus on which they put their more ‘adult’ content.

Therefore, a Die Hard series could easily go on there.

However, we’re now hearing that a Die Hard series is in development for Netflix.

How could that happen? Well, Disney and Netflix could have done a deal to have the streamer work on the series and release it on Netflix.

It doesn’t make much sense to me because they are competitors.

All I will say as far as this rumour is concerned is take it with a big pinch of salt.

It sounds too strange that Disney would allow Netflix to utilize a franchise that they own that’s also so recognizable.

There’s potentially still a lot of money to be made out of the Die Hard franchise.
