Well look no further, we’ll break down everything we know – and what we think will happen in season 4 – right now. Take a breather from cheering on Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and let’s look to what Season 4 of Cobra Kai has in store for us.

Will there be a season 4 of Cobra Kai?

Yes! On October 2nd, 2020 Netflix renewed Cobra Kai for a fourth season. Then, toward the end of that month, showrunner Jon Hurwitz tweeted out that writers had completed all scripts for Season 4 of Cobra Kai. They just needed to give them some polish.

When does production start?

Production on Cobra Kai Season 4 is scheduled to start on January 20th, according to Production Weekly. Filming will last until April 15th. This, of course, all depends on the current status of the Atlanta area where the series is filmed. We all know how things can change in today’s world with everything going on, but let’s hope it begins production on January 20th.

What can we expect from Cobra Kai Season 4?

WARNING – SPOILER TERRITORY FOR COBRA KAI SEASON 3.

However, if you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably watched Season 3 already, so let’s move right on into what we think will happen in Season 4 of Cobra Kai.

Eagle Fang And Miyagi-Do Karate VS Cobra Kai

At the end of season 3, we FINALLY get to see Johnny and Daniel’s respective dojos team-up. In no small part to their students pushing for it (I wonder what they are going to name it). We can assume that the majority of season 3 will focus on the beef between there newly combined dojo and Kreese’s Cobra Kai. Which will eventually lead to…

The All Valley Tournament

Yes, one of the big reminders and point of contention towards the end of season 3 was Daniel, Johnny, Kreese, Miguel and Sam fighting to keep the All Valley Tournament from getting cancelled. Now with each characters side chosen by the end of the season – and both Eagle Fang Karate and Miyagi-Do Karate combining forces – the ultimate battle will take place during the All Valley Tournament.

Kreese’s mysterious phone call at the end of Season 3

Season 3 ended with Kreese calling his old Vietnam buddy Terry Silver, (Twigs, that we saw in flashbacks), who just happens to be the villain from The Karate Kid 3 film. He was a wealthy business man who funded and helped open the original Cobra Kai. Expect him to show up in season 4 and support Kreese in his battle against Johnny and Daniel. In more ways than one.

When is the release date?

No release date has been set, as of yet. However, the last few seasons took 5 to 6 months to shoot, so if all goes according to plan, we could season Cobra Kai Season 4 before the end of the year. And if not, maybe a 2021 New Years Day present, like Netflix gave us this year with season 3.
