The Blade movie is going to be a very big deal for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s been revealed that the Blade movie is going to start filming this October. That’s not too far off, and I for one cannot wait to get to watch this movie finally. Let’s go into this news in a little more detail and talk about why I’m so excited to see this movie. This news was revealed by Marvel Updates on Twitter (via KFTV).
Here’s what Marvel Updates had to say via Twitter about the Blade movie starting filming on October 5th and set to continue until January 28th, 2023:

Marvel Studio’s #Blade is set to start filming from Oct 5,2022!
The Blade movie is going to start filming in October
This Blade movie is going to see Mahershala Ali star as the titular character. It was revealed that he just went straight to Marvel President, Kevin Feige, and told him that he wanted to play Blade in the MCU. Feige liked the idea and ended up casting him as the character. That was actually quite a while ago, and we still haven’t seen the Blade movie yet. We actually haven’t seen the character in the flesh in the MCU yet. We’ve heard him in a post-credits scene in The Eternals.
That post-credits scene saw Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman take up the Ebony Blade out of its case and then a voice could be heard saying, “You sure you’re ready for that, Mr. Whitman”. Dane then looks at whoever just said that, but we didn’t get to see who was saying the line. It was later revealed that Ali’s Blade was the one who was talking to Dane in that scene. It was a really cool scene and got me very excited to see this upcoming MCU vampire movie!
This movie could change the MCU forever
Yes, this upcoming movie will be all about Marvel vampires. Blade is a vampire hunter and a bloody good one. He’s also half-vampire himself and is referred to amongst the vampires as ‘The Day Walker’. He was last played by Wesley Snipes in three movies, and he’s become very famous for playing the role.
It does seem as though the MCU is going to be leaning more into the supernatural with the likes of Blade, Black Knight, Moon Knight and Scarlet Witch solo movie all on the horizon. There’s also Werewolf By Night and Marvel Zombies that are coming. It does seem as though we’re going to be seeing more ghosts, vampires, ghouls, zombies and so on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. I just cannot wait for all this to get started! Moon Knight was great and Werewolf By Night’s trailer just looked awesome!
The Blade movie is going to be helmed by Mogul Mowgli director Bassam Tariq, and is scheduled for release on November 3, 2023.
