Zack Snyder teases the SnyderVerse with the possible re-release of his DCEU films in a theatrical event. Just this week, Snyder posted a short teased on social media which he labelled #fullcircle.

The teaser was only 14 seconds long, but it had the voice of Darkseid saying:

April 28th, 29th and 30th. Save the Date.

Of course, SnyderVerse fans are going to presume something is up. Many fans are hoping that his version of the DCEU will continue somehow. Some are even hoping that Netflix would buy the SnyderVerse from Warner Bros. Discovery. Amazon did just buy Batman: Caped Crusader from WBD.

And hope that Zack Snyder can continue the DCEU there while James Gunn can do what he wants to do in the new DC Universe.

While some people are still hoping that the SnyderVerse would be able to see the light of day again, Gunn himself has already said that the new DC Universe is coming. Not only that, but Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck have confirmed that they won’t be returning to the new DCU.

The teaser came out of nowhere, and it surprised many which led to a lot of speculation.

Just a day after Zack Snyder teased us with the short video, he posted a new image on the social media Vero clarifying what the original post meant. The image shows a new black-and-white image of Henry Cavill as Superman, and it says:

MOS BVS ZSJL

Life is a cycle. From birth to death to rebirth. And so the hero’s journey is a cycle as well. A continuous journey of growth and transformation.

April 28 29 30.

The letters obviously are abbreviations of the DCEU movies he made for DC Films. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Sndyer’s Justice League. While the first two films have been shown in theatres before, it is the first time his version of Justice League will be shown in a movie theatre.

More recently, he posted another image on VERO with Ben Affleck’s Batman this time around. It says:

While nothing is official at the moment, it seems that Snyder is planning a Snyder-con event at his alma mater, The Art Center College of Design (ACCD) in Pasadena, California. If this is true, then it is true that he has gone “full circle” since he plans to show all his DCEU films at the place where he came from.

Back in March 2019, Snyder held a three-day event at his alma mater called the Snyder-con. The event showed Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen and Batman v Superman.

So, it’s no surprise a Snydercon 2 would happen at some point. In 2021 Snyder even said that Warner did allow him some limited screenings of his films. He said on CinemaBlend:

[The studio has] given me a handful of charity screenings in IMAX. So as we go forward, I’m going to do a handful of charity screenings — a couple in color, a couple in black and white — and that’s my plan. As we head toward the fall, with the Nerd Queens, we really want to do Zack Con Two, or Snyder Con Two. The idea there would be to do an IMAX weekend where we would do Man of Steel, BvS and Justice League as sort of a three-day event and try and get as many of the people who made the movie and the cast and whoever will help us out as a huge charity event. A huge kind of fan gathering with cosplay and the whole… like a real celebration of the whole thing.

Releasing the three films for three days has been in Snyder’s plan for a while now. Also, it’s confirmed that Snyder plans to show Justice League in colour in IMAX. If that is the plan, we can presume that Snyder himself will be at the event to interact with the fans, have dinner and take some pictures with the fans.

Snyder’s announcement only means that this might give some people access to seeing all three films, including Snyder’s Justice League. This is good news for people who want to see the movies again on the big screen. Unfortunately, getting to Snydercon is not going to be easily accessible to many, but it is the only way to see it in cinemas at this time.

Zack Snyder is moving on from the DCEU. His time leading that universe is over, as James Gunn is now preparing for the new DC Universe. We don’t know if the possible re-release of the films is Snyder’s way of finalizing the end of the SnyderVerse. But I am sure that a lot of fans would be happy to see the films in cinemas if possible.

For now, Snyder is busy at Netflix focused on two franchises which he was able to build on his own, Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon.

A few films remain for the SnyderVerse. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is currently showing Blue Beetle, The Flash, and Aquaman and the Lost KingdomThe Flash will mark a reset of the DC Extended Universe to the new, while the Aquaman sequel will be the last film connected to the SnyderVerse.
