It’s been revealed that Netflix’s latest hit, Wednesday, has broken the streaming platform’s viewership record, which was previously set by Stranger Things Season 4. It’s been revealed (via IGN) that the series has been streamed for 341.2 million hours since it landed on the platform, and it’s done that in just one week!

The series stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, and she’s brilliant in the show. We’ve recently been told that talks for the second season have already begun, and it’s only a matter of time before it’s officially announced.

“Being an outcast has never been more IN as Wednesday, the supernatural-infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years at Nevermore Academy, debuted in the #1 spot with a record-breaking 341.2M hours viewed,” confirmed Netflix in a statement.

That number is huge, and it means that the series has managed to topple Stranger Things Season 4 for the top spot. Netflix had to this say on the matter in a new statement:

The series now holds the record for the most hours viewed in a week for an English-language TV series on Netflix. Starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday with an impressive cast of characters and directed and executive produced by Tim Burton, with showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, the series was #1 in 83 countries – tied with Stranger Things 4.

Will the new series be able to topple Strange Things Season 4’s overall record?

It’s going to be interesting to see whether Wednesday manages to break the other Netflix record that Stranger Things recently broke. I’m talking about the overall viewership record. The fourth season was viewed for a colossal 1.15 billion hours in its first 28 days on the service. I’m not sure if the show is going to be able to hit that number, but it won’t be far off.

Have you watched Wednesday on Netflix yet? If not, what are you waiting for? The show is amazing!
