Clarkson’s Farm Season 2 is coming, and we cannot wait for it. However, it’s now been revealed how much one of the stars of the show makes farming. That’s right, it’s been revealed how much Kaleb Cooper actually makes farming, and it’s pretty shocking.

One of the reasons why we love this show is because it shows audiences what it’s like being a farmer nowadays, and spoilers, it’s not easy. Kaleb Cooper is a farmer, and just so happens to be on Jeremy Clarkson’s new Prime Video series. He’s been a huge hit and people really love him. Kaleb’s ended up with over 1 million followers on Instagram and has his own book coming up, The World According To Kaleb.

So, Kaleb actually revealed that he only makes 50p an hour working as a farmer, which is next to nothing! He revealed this during his appearance on Ben and Georgie Ainslie’s Performance People podcast (via Metro). Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

When I’m working for myself, when I’m feeding my calves in the morning – I bought eight calves, it’s like a little bit of a new business idea that I’m doing, buying calves in and then feed them on milk, which costs me about £200 a calf, then selling them at nine months.

Kaleb then went on to add:

[I’m] trying to get a profit [and] see if it will work. I worked it out the other day, do you know how much my hourly rate is, how much I pay myself? 50p an hour.

This all comes after Kaleb revealed how farmers have been struggling in the United Kingdom thanks to the current cost of living crisis, and branded it “incredibly hard.” He explained that: “Diesel, for example, was 32 pence per litre last year. It’s now £1.20.” Kaleb continued:

And as a contractor, I can’t really put my prices up because the farmers go, ‘Christ, I can’t really afford it.’

Kaleb then continued: “In the farming world, the person at the top is the farmer, and he often has no better. So, therefore, in the industry, it’s incredibly hard. But I like doing it, so what else would I do?”

Hopefully, Kaleb will be able to make up for his losses thanks to the fact that he’s a star on a very successful Amazon Prime Video series. They recently revealed that a third season is on the way. Moreover, we were told that Amazon is already getting the ball rolling on Season 4, so hopefully, things will be OK for Kaleb. That said, the farmers in the UK are going to be in for a very tough time moving forward.

Clarksons’ Farm Season 2 should be available to stream on Prime Video towards the end of the year. However, it might end up being pushed into 2024.
