When Will The Walking Dead Season 11 Be Released On AMC?

With The Walking Dead Season 10 about to come to an end, I wanted to find out when Season 11’s release date would be on AMC, and hopefully, it’ll be soon.

It’s was revealed this week that The Walking Dead Season 10’s release date had been delayed.

AMC cited the current Coronavirus pandemic as the reason behind them having the push back Season 10’s finale.

This delay will inevitably have a knock-on effect for the upcoming season and all the other Walking Dead spinoff shows.

There’s Fear The Walking Dead and AMC is making another spinoff show called The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Basically, everything’s now been put on hold due to the pandemic.

This is a huge shame for all us The Walking Dead fans.

That said, it was a tough decision that AMC just had to make in order to keep their cast and crew safe from the virus.

Here’s what AMC had to say about all the delays to their upcoming Walking Dead properties:

“Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5th. The planned finale will appear as a special episode later in the year,” AMC shared via the show’s Twitter account (via ComicBook.com).

They continued: “The first eight episodes of The Walking Dead Season 10 will be available for free on AMC.com and the AMC app, immediately following the last Season 10 episode on Sunday, April 5th through Friday, May 1st.”

This means that we’re going to have to wait a very long time until The Walking Dead Season 11’s release date is revealed.

Before the virus hit, we were looking at Season 11 being on our screens around October 2020.

However, it’s looking more likely that the next season will air towards the beginning of 2021.

If this pandemic continues, Season 11 could even end up being delayed until early 2022.

This is a shame because Season 10 was one of the best seasons of the show we’ve seen in a while.

There was the addition of The Whisperers, who are a great group of villains.

The show was also starting to find its feet sans Rick Grimes.

As for who will star in Season 11 of the hit zombie show, we know that Lauren Cohan will be playing Maggie in the upcoming season.

However, Danai Gurira will be officially out as Michonne.

That said, it does look like Norman Reedus will still be on-board as Daryl Dixon.

He will also most likely be joined by Melissa McBride as Carol.

However, there are no other confirmed cast members for Season 11.

Your guess is as good as mine as to who else could star in the next season.
