When Insomniac Games released the original Spider-Man, it set the gaming world on fire. For the first time in the history of the character, we had a video game that accurately captured what it meant to be Spider-Man.

It was a groundbreaking game that had pioneering new technology that redefined the way we look at superhero titles, and comic book fans and video game fans alike hotly anticipate the new sequel for the game.

With the new game teasing the appearance of fan favourite character Venom and co-op play with Peter Parker and Miles Morales as a likely feature, fans of Yuri Lowenthal’s take on the iconic hero will be chomping at the bit to get their copy on launch day.

We’ve already seen what the PS5 can do for Spider-Man thanks to a remastered edition making full use of ray tracing technology, so there’s no doubt that the next big instalment for the web-slinger will be one to look out for.

The controversy surrounding JK Rowling aside, nobody can deny the iconic world of Harry Potter has captured the hearts and minds of adults and children alike.

Those kids who grew up watching the films are now adults passing the franchise to the next generation, and it’s the height of fashion to know your Hogwarts house (the writer is a Slytherin).

Hogwarts Legacy is an ambitious open-world game that was released on all major consoles in the first half of 2023.

It promises complete autonomy for the player as they get to explore the iconic castle in a way that’s never been done before.

The title is based on a period before the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione, and the player will be given free rein to choose their house, learn spells, and roam Hogwarts and its surrounding grounds at their discretion.

For longtime fans of the series, this will be either the immersive experience they’ve dreamed of or a bitter regret – expectations are high.
