The Matrix Spinoff Show Is Rumoured To Be In The Works For HBO Max

It’s being rumoured that there’s a The Matrix spinoff show in the works over at HBO Max, which is interesting. This rumour comes to us from Giant Freakin Robot.

We already know that The Matrix 4 is coming and it’ll star Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss who’ll be returning to the roles they played in the first three Matrix films. They’ll be joined by Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson and Daniel Bernhardt who are also back in their respective roles.

The film is being directed by Lana Wachowski and is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures theatrically on December 22, 2021. It’ll also be coming out at the same time on HBO Max in the United States.

Our trusted inside source – the same one that gave us our confirmed scoop about Josh Brolin returning as Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – has learned that a big-budget Matrix series is in the works for HBO Max. The show will be set in the same world as the movies but will focus on different characters dealing with The Matrix.

As for The Matrix 4, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Eréndira Ibarra, Andrew Caldwell, Brian J. Smith, Ian Pirie, Lavish and Ellen Hollman have been cast in undisclosed roles.
