We’ve been hearing about movies being pushed back to COVID-19, but there is one film whose release date has been moved forward – The Matrix 4.
Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that the Lana Wachowski feature will now be released on December 22, 2021.
It had previously been scheduled on April 1, 2022.
The Matrix 4 had already been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, it seems as though Warner Bros. Pictures now feels they can push it forward a bit.
It really does feel as if 2021 is going to be a bumper year for movies.
There are so many big releases supposed coming out next year.
You have all the movies that have been pushed into 2021 due to the pandemic, along with all the huge films that were already slated for release then.
We might end up seeing a lot of 2021 movies get pushed into 2022 due to there being just too many tentpole movies coming out that year.
The Matrix 4’s release date has been brought forward to 2021
That said, movie studios might want to try everything within their power to make back the money they lost this year.
Perhaps filling up 2021 with as many movies as possible might be the best way to do that.
And, with cinemas closing down for the foreseeable future, it could be a good way to get cinemas back on their feet.
They’ll need a plethora of huge releases in order to entice people back into the cinemas.
It seems as though 2021 has a lot of big blockbuster releases ready for the general public to watch.
