Warner Bros. Pictures Delays The Flash Movie Release Date Again

Warner Bros. Pictures has opted to delay the release of The Flash movie yet again as they’ve pushed it even further into 2022.

Today has been an incredibly strange day.

There’s been movie delay announcement after movie delay announcement.

That said, there was one movie – The Matrix 4 – which was pushed forward.

However, it does seem as though movie studios have now opted to delay the vast majority of their big tentpole releases.

This now included Andy Muschietti’s upcoming The Flash movie which has been delayed further into 2022.

The film has already been delayed from 2018 to 2021.

Now, it’s being delayed from June 2, 2022 to November 4, 2022.

This might have something to do with COVID-19 and the fact that it’s not going to be easy to get production underway on the movie any time soon.

The Flash movie has gone through many writers and directors.

The film is now going to be directed by IT director Andy Muschietti, who’ll be working off a script from Birds of Prey’s Christina Hodson.

This The Flash movie is supposedly going to follow Ezra Miller’s version of the Scarlet Speedster on a journey through the DC live-action multiverse.

It’ll also include cameo appearances from both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s iterations of Batman.

“This movie is a bit of a hinge in the sense that it presents a story that implies a unified universe where all the cinematic iterations that we’ve seen before are valid,” Muschietti said in a previous interview (via ComicBook.com).

“It’s inclusive in the sense that it is saying all that you’ve seen exists, and everything that you will see exists, in the same unified multiverse.”

“What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it,” Muschietti revealed.

“The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”
