The BBC Refuses To Comment On The Rumours That Jodie Whittaker Is Leaving Doctor Who

The BBC has refused to comment on whether the rumours that Jodie Whittaker is leaving Doctor Who after Season 13 are true. This news comes to us from Digital Spy.

It was revealed recent by The Mirror that Jodie Whittaker was leaving Doctor Who after Season 13, and people went a bit mad over the news. I’ve seen a few people online claim that the rumours are not true.

Unfortunately, I’m inclined to believe The Mirror’s reports that Whittaker is leaving the show after three seasons. Not only do I believe the reports because I used to work for The Mirror and I know that they don’t just make stuff up. But, it also makes perfect sense for her to leave the show now.

Anyway fellow UK media outlet, Digital Spy, took it upon themselves to try and get an answer out of the BBC. Here’s what they replied when asked whether the reports that Whittaker was calling it quits on the Doctor were true:

We won’t be commenting on any speculation around Jodie’s future on the show.

Yep, that’s pretty standard, especially from the BBC. They do not tend to comment on these sorts of things until they have to. The BBC likes to control the narrative, and I’m pretty sure they’ll be fuming that this has leaked before they could make an official announcement. Well, the proverbial cat’s out of the bag now and the BBC will have to say something very soon.
