The Batman Movie Is Going To Be In The Present Day

It’s been revealed that Matt Reeves’ upcoming movie, The Batman, is going to be set in the present day, which is nice to know.

Up until this point, we kind of knew that the new Batman movie would be set in modern times.

However, we didn’t actually know what year it might be set.

I mean, Batman movies are kind of timeless.

They can be set whenever really.

Think about it, do we really know when the Christopher Nolan or Tim Burton Batman films are set?

That’s right. Not really.

That said, it seems as though Matt Reeves’ The Batman will be set in the present day, or as close as you can get.

According to Brandon Davis’ recent tweet (of ComicBook.com fame), the movie will be set in 2019.

The Batman movie will be taking place in 2019

He was recently on the set of The Batman in Chicago and had the time to snap a picture of one of the taxi cabs on the set.

It’s a Gotham City taxi cab and it clearly states that they are in the year 2019.

This is interesting because it means that the film will be set in a world which has our technology.

That’s probably why we’ve been seeing Robert Pattinson’s Batman go around in a cool car and motorbike, but they’re not overly kitted out with tech.

This is not like Christopher Nolan’s Batman.

His Batman has ridiculously advanced tech, and it’s not quite a low-tech as Tim Burton’s was.

It’s somewhere in between.
