The Batman Becomes Second-Best Performing Film On HBO Max

It’s been revealed that The Batman has already become the second-best performing movie on HBO Max since it debuted on the streaming platform.

This news comes to us via Collider and I’m really happy for the Matt Reeves DC Comics movie.

This actually means that The Batman has been performing better than the likes of The Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman 1984 and Dune on HBO Max.

The Batman only had a 45-day release window in cinemas in the United States before it was made available on HBO Max.

During that cinematic release window, The Batman ended up making $750 million at the box office worldwide.

$365 million of that money came from the United States alone, meaning that it performed very well in the US.

The Batman ended up beating the record for first week Smart TV U.S. viewership compared to other Warner Bros. and HBO Max films, having garnered 4.1 million total.

Other films in the lineup include The Suicide Squad at 3.5 million, Wonder Woman 1984 at 3.2 million, The Matrix: Resurrections at 3.2 million, and the Dune at 2.3 million.

All of these movies were released ‘day and date’ on HBO Max.

The Batman ended up coming second behind New Line Cinema’s Mortal Kombat.

That movie is HBO Max’s best performing original movie on the streaming platform.
