Deadpool 2’s New Teaser Trailer Has Just Landed And It’s Brilliant

A new teaser for Deadpool 2 has been released which features a Deadpool-ish tribute to Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting as well as showing a brief snippet of the film’s R-rated action.

I’m going to be totally honest here, I didn’t quite get the reference in Deadpool 2’s new teaser. That said, it’s a lot of fun to see Deadpool dressed up in a white shirt tucked into a pair of blue jeans, wearing a funky afro wig whilst apparently painting works of art. This is apparently a tribute to Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting, an American television show that ran in the 80s and early 90s. Bob Ross was famed for his “wet-on-wet” technique which is what Deadpool is poking fun at in this teaser. Check it out below.

However, as you might have already seen, the teaser isn’t just of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool painting and making rather crude sex and drug references (both of which he clearly has a serious addiction to), yet there’s also a brief, very brief, glimpse at the upcoming movie. The teaser confirms the return of Deadpool favourites such as Brianna Hildebrand Negasonic Teenage Warhead, T.J. Miller’s Weasel, Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa, Deadpool’s taxi driver friend (played by Karan Soni), Leslie Uggams’ Blind Al and introduces Zazie Beetz’s Domino. John Wick and Atomic Blonde’s director, David Leitch, is helming the project after Tim Miller left the sequel to his 2016 R-rated comic book movie hit.

He’s also quite prominent of the film’s gloriously painted poster, which we get another look at in this teaser. So, as Deadpool himself says in this teaser: “Keep your paints dry, your dream wet. And remember, hugs not drugs.”

Deadpool 2 will be in UK cinemas on June 1st, 2018. So it looks like it won’t be 2018’s Valentine’s Day movie of the year.
