Stranger Things Ending Will Be “Bittersweet” Says Star

Stranger Things Ending Will Be Bittersweet Says Star

An actor shared that the upcoming Stranger Things ending will be “bittersweet” as the series has become a good chunk of people’s entertainment. Netflix has a number of titles in their library that has taken the world by storm. Last year’s Wednesday, 2021 Squid Game, Bridgerton, The Witcher are just three of the most watched series around the globe.

Topping those titles is still the phenomenal coming-of-age, science fiction, fantasy, comedy, suspense, thriller, conspiracy drama series Stranger Things ending its run with season 5.

The lead cast practically grew up before the audience’s very eyes. The kids, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair and Noah Schnapp as Will Byers let the world know of the upside-down with Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven back in 2016.

People binge-watched the series over and over and got frustrated if ever Natalia Dyer’s Nancy Wheeler would ever firmly choose between Charlie Heaton’s Jonathan Byers and Joe Keery’s Steve Harrington. Later, audiences got to know more about Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair and Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield.

Now, everyone has some sort of presence as a household name in the industry. In fact a good number of audiences would be more familiar with them than the veteran stars Winona Ryder who plays Joyce Byers and David Harbour who plays Jim Hopper.

Showrunners Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are successful in creating a ragtag team of D&D adventurers party. Somehow their sessions foreshadow what’s to happen in the series. And with season 5 their game would likely signal the Stranger Things ending.

Comicbook quotes Harrington actor Joe Keery on his thoughts about the upcoming Stranger Things ending season. The actor said in the recent German Comic Con:

It’s going to be bittersweet, for sure. I think everybody’s excited to start working again, but it’ll be like the first time of a lot of last things, as well. It’ll be very bittersweet.

In the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Matt Duffer stated:

We wanna go back to a lot of the things we did in season 1. A lot of the original groupings and pairings that we had in season 1 — there’s something nice about coming full circle.

Many memorable scenes and character have come and gone but the message has always been the same. The bond of friendship and family will always be stronger even between worlds.

Also, the upcoming Stranger Things ending doesn’t necessarily mean that there won’t be anymore stories to tell. In fact, reports indicate that Netflix has ordered an animated spin-off series. The Duffer brothers were quoted saying:

there are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes.

Fans expect season 5 to pick up exactly the moment where season 4 left off. Everyone who is anyone in the entire series would be at Hawkins. Stranger Things ending all its story arcs in season 5 will happen just in the real world and the upside-down Hawkins.

Because it has appeared that Vecna survived, will he be getting an upgrade or mutation? Many also expect that the story will center once again with Will as he comes full circle being the first victim who put everything in motion. Will was the upside-down’s first spy and many think that he hasn’t been truly freed of that and is still tethered to the Mind Flayer monster beyond.

Joe Keery probably has one of the top character developments in the entire series. From a hot shot basketball jock to the guy whom the kids turn to whenever something big comes up was a remarkable progression. He even became the bigger man as he stepped back thinking Nancy would be happier with Jonathan. Still, audiences are rooting for him to get his own big family.

As the writers’ room reportedly described the developing Stranger Things ending, they said:

…like if season 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that baby was injected with steroids.

The cast and crew are getting ready for an anticipated shoot starting June this year. We can only imagine what the people involved in the series are feeling as the production draws to an end.

However, that will also signify the hope that things will get better for the kids and the entire town of Hawkins. Plus, even with Stranger Things ending on season 5, new stories are being developed for the franchise as we speak.

Watch out for Stranger Things Season 5 in 2024 on Netflix.
