Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Is The Most-Watched Movie On VOD During Lockdown

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker has been revealed to be the most-watched movie on VOD during this lockdown period which must mean people liked the film.

Abrams’ final movie in the recent Skywalker saga wasn’t received particularly well by critics and fans when it was first released.

However, it looks like people have been giving the film a second chance.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker was recently released on Blu-ray.

It is also available to purchased on selected streaming platforms online.

It seems as though people have been curious to rewatch the movie after having seen in the cinema.

It’s still been revealed by the Digital Entertainment Group (via Forbes) that the final Star Wars movie in the Skywalker saga is the most “watched-at-home movie” during the Coronavirus pandemic in the United States of America.

This data was compiled from satellite, cable, VOD, and surveys by both physical and digital retailers.

Using this data, they then made a list of the top 20 moves watched from home.

The Rise Of Skywalker ended up dethroning recent blockbuster releases such as Pixar’s Onward and Warner Bros’ Birds of Prey.

Personally, I enjoyed The Rise Of Skywalker and I’m thrilled to see that more people are watching it after its rather mixed reception when it was first released.
