Sony Pictures Reportedly Considering An R-Rated And Gory Carnage Film

It’s now being rumoured that Sony Pictures is considering an R-rated and gory Carnage film, which sounds like fun. This rumour comes from Geekosity’s Mikey Sutton, and he’s been proven to be bang on the money as far as his scoops are concerned.

This is something that fans of the Carnage character have been waiting for for years. We already know that Carnage is going to be the main villain in the upcoming Venom 2 movie.

That film is going to star Tom Hardy as Venom, a.k.a. Eddie Brock and Woody Harrelson as Carnage, a.k.a. Cletus Kasady. It’s going to be a tough battle for Hardy’s Venom, who will undoubtedly have to stop Carnage’s murder spree. The movie, called Venom: Let There Be Carnage, is being directed by Andy Serkis.

According to Mikey Sutton over at Geekosity, Sony Pictures is now thinking of making a solo Carnage movie, which will be very gory and very much R-rated. This sounds like something fans might love.

Sutton explained that Sony Pictures are looking at Joker’s huge box office takings as evidence that there is an appetite for an R-rated Carnage solo movie. Here’s what he said about this potential movie:

Sony’s preference is to have Carnage eventually tangle with the MCU’s soon-to-be-unveiled supernatural gang the Midnight Sons, fighting the likes of Ghost Rider. But, for now, they are looking at a Carnage solo spin-off if the next Venom takes a huge bite out of the box office.
