She-Hulk Episode 4 landed this week and fans of the show have spotted something in this episode that seemed to tease Mephisto in the MCU. Fans have been waiting for years to see Mephisto finally brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it looks like She-Hulk gave us our first confirmation that the character does exist in the MCU. Let us explain what happened in the episode.

There were a lot of people, myself included, that really believed that Mephisto was going to be making an appearance in Disney Plus’ Marvel series, WandaVision. There were a lot of teases that this might happen, but it didn’t. Millions of Marvel fans the world over were really upset by this and felt a bit cheated. However, there is a reason why Marvel Studios might not be bringing Mephisto into the MCU, and it all has to do with China [insert Donald Trump voice saying “China” here].

So, what happened in She-Hulk Episode 4, called Is This Not Real Magic?, that makes us think that Mephisto might be coming to the MCU, finally. The episode definitely gave us a tease that Mephisto might be waiting in the wings of one of the other dimensions or Earths in the MCU. It all happened when a character called Donny Blaze (played by Rhys Coiro) opened a portal to a world unknown to us, the viewer. He didn’t know much or anything about it either.

Blaze, whom many people still think is Marvel making another in-joke by making the name very close to Johnny Blaze – aka Ghost Rider – used to be a trainee sorcerer. However, he ended up leaving, but kept his sling ring. He’s now doing cheap tricks on stage in Las Vegas, and it’s not going very well. So, he decides to show the audience some real magic, and he pulls out his sling ring and creates a portal to another universe.

It looked like Donny Blaze might have actually opened up a portal to the Hell dimension by accident. We know this because he got an unwitting volunteer to go up on stage, and she then went through the portal. The volunteer, called Madisynn King (played by Patty Guggenheim), then literally landed in Wong’s living room holding a bloody heart and told some story about meeting a demon who sent her back to her Earth, but asked for some of her blood in return.

This got us thinking that this “demon” (as she referred to it as), might have actually been Mephisto because she says that it took the form of a goat, which is one of the many forms that Mephisto takes in some of the Marvel Comics. So, with all this in mind, I’m pretty certain that Madisynn came face to face with Mephisto and somehow managed to strike a deal with him to get back to her Earth.

The thing is, she had no real idea what was going on and just thought it was “creepy”, “scary”, and “spooky”, but in a kind of “fun” way. That’s exactly how she explained her ordeal whilst in court.
