What’s going on with Shang-Chi and its Chinese release date? Is Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings even going to be released in China?
I must say that it would be really strange if Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings didn’t come out in China.
However, as of writing this article, Shang-Chi still doesn’t have a Chinese release date.
And the really strange thing is that it seems as though it might not actually get one.
According to MovieWeb, the movie still hasn’t been approved for release in China.
This is really quite strange given the fact that the movie prominently features Asian characters.
That said, there are many people who analyze the Chinese market that did state that the movie might not play very well over in China.

Also, if the movie doesn’t come out in China, that will really affect its box office takings.
That will be a huge issue for the movie and the character moving forward.
I know that Marvel Studios is already planning a Shang-Chi sequel.
They want to make the character one of the MCU’s leads moving forward.
However, if Shang-Chi doesn’t play well in China – or if it doesn’t play over there at all – Marvel might have an issue on its hands.
