Shadow And Bone Season 2: When Will It Be Released?

Shadow-And-Bone-NEtflix-Season-2

Shadow And Bone Season 1 recently landed on Netflix and it’s proven to be a pretty solid hit for the streaming platform.

It seems as though many Netflix viewers have really gravitated towards the show and it’s been something of a ‘sleeper hit’.

What do I mean by a “sleeper hit”? Well, I’ve just noticed that more and more people have been discovering the show since it was released.

There was a lot of excitement about this show before it was released.

However, it seems as though interest in Shadow And Bone has just grown steadily since it was released this month.

So, I’m sure you all know this already, but Shadow And Bone is based on Grisha novel trilogy, the first of which is Shadow and Bone (2012), and the Six of Crows (2015) two-part novel by Leigh Bardugo.

The books were pretty popular, and they serve as a great basis for an interesting TV show.

The series has been described as a period drama/steampunk/sci-fi show, which I think is a pretty good way to describe it.

Now, this is where I go into some of my personal thoughts on Season 1.

I think it’s actually a really solid show and gets better as it goes along.

I didn’t think the first season was ‘amazing’, but there was a lot of promise there.

I think this one of Netflix’s most promising shows, actually.

I think the first season is stronger than the likes of The Witcher Season 1, which I think is very flawed.

I think it’s far, far better than Netflix’s other big original series they released in May, Jupiter’s Legacy.

Shadow And Bone is a series that I think could go on for many more years.

There’s a lot of promise with the series and I actually think it’s brilliantly cast and really well written and directed.

So, will there be a Season 2 of Shadow And Bone?

Well, I can confirm that Season 2 has already been green lit by Netflix.

The series is going to go into production relatively soon.

It’s developed by Eric Heisserer and he’ll be back in charge for Season 2.

The cast will all also be back.

There are some COVID-19-related things they have to sort out before they can start shooting.

However, Netflix has been able to almost carry on as usual as far as filming their upcoming shows is concerned.

Locke And Key Seasons 2 and 3 have been filming throughout the pandemic.

The Witcher Season 2 was also filmed during the global pandemic and it was only delayed slightly.

Another show they’ve been filming during this pandemic was Money Heist Season 5.

Incidentally, they’ve just revealed that Season 5 of Money Heist will be released in two parts.

Lucifer Season 6 was also filmed during the pandemic.

So, Netflix is kind of used to this now.

Now, back to Shadow And Bone Season 2.

When will it be released?

Well, the truth is that there’s no official release date as of yet.

Netflix hasn’t even officially announced Season 2.

However, they should be going into production on Season 2 pretty soon and I think that an end of 2022 release date is a safe bet.

It could even come out before then, but I think Netflix would like to give the show’s cast and crew more time to work on the show before they release it.

They won’t want to rush it too much.

Finally, we have a pretty interesting interview coming out on our YouTube channel which all Shadow And Bone fans will be interested in watching.

Watch this space for more information on when that interview will be released.
