There’s a new Predator reboot movie coming called Prey, and it sounds like this movie is going to be very different from the previous Predator movies.

This news comes from 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Asbell revealed that this upcoming Predator reboot, Prey, is going to be a bit of a gamble for them.

Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

And coolest of all for fans, we get to find bold takes on beloved Fox properties. You can take big creative swings — which you’ll see with Prey, which we’ll launch this summer. A Predator movie set in the Great Plains in 1719 by Dan Trachtenberg. That’s what this allows us to do.

This upcoming Prey movie is going to be heading to Hulu in the United States as some point this year.

The movie will be released on Disney Plus STAR in most other territories around the globe.

It really does sound like movie is going to be unlike any Predator movie that’s come before it.

The film is going to be very much stripped back compared to all the other films made in the franchise previously.

It might be more like the original movie in the sense that it’s going to be the Predator taking on people in the wilderness.

However, the movie will follow a Comanche woman who goes against gender norms and traditions to become a warrior, and she’s going to be taking on the Predator in this film.

Prey is being directed by Trachtenberg, with a script by Patrick Aison.

Amber Midthunder will star in the movie.
