Noah Hawley Confirms His Star Trek Movie Isn’t Going To Happen Any Time Soon

Noah Hawley has confirmed that his Star Trek movie won’t be happening any time soon, which is really sad as far as I’m concerned. He revealed this in a recent interview with Deadline in which he said the project had been put on hold by Paramount Pictures.

This comes after months of speculation about what might happen in his Star Trek movie. There were rumours that the movie wouldn’t feature the same cast as in the three previous Star Trek movies. Noah Hawley was saying that his movie would focus on another crew on another ship.

I’m a big fan of Noah Hawley’s work and I was really looking forward to see what he could do with the Star Trek franchise. That said, people weren’t very happy with the idea of him getting rid of the cast of the previous Star Trek movies. Fans had very much grown fond of the likes of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg.

Here’s what Noah Hawley had to say about his Star Trek movie which seems to be very much on hold at the moment:

It doesn’t appear to be in my immediate future. I think when Paramount President Emma Watts came in, she took a look at the franchise and wanted to go in a different direction with it. But you know, life is long, we were very close to production but in this business that doesn’t mean much. You got to get out of the gate to be in the race, if you know what I mean.

Hopefully, Noah will be able to get his Star Trek movie officially into production, which he did state they are close to. However, it’s that phrase “doesn’t appear to be in my immediate future” which makes me rather sad. Fingers crossed it still happens.
