A new Henry Cavill Superman movie is officially now in the works over at Warner Bros Discovery, which is something that we’ve been saying is happening for quite some time now. This news was revealed in The Hollywood Report’s pretty big exclusive article in which they revealed a bunch of stuff in relation to upcoming DC Films projects. Honestly, I’ve never been so excited about the future of DC!
So, according to The Hollywood Report, not only is Cavill going to be returning for this new Superman film, but Warner Bros wants Christopher McQuarrie to write the movie’s script. I think this is a terrific idea. McQuarrie has been making brilliant movies for a long time now. He’s the guy behind the latest Mission: Impossible movies. One of those films, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, starred Cavill. He delivered an incredible performance in it, so I think the two of them work very well together.

I must mention that McQuarrie hasn’t officially been approached by Warner Bros. He’s on what’s referred to in the article as their ‘wishlist’. However, I think it won’t be long before Warners makes an official approach for McQuarrie to write the movie’s script and direct the picture. It was also revealed that the movie is going to be produced by long-time DC Comics movie producer, Charles Roven.
I’m not a huge fan of Roven’s. However, if he helps in getting this movie made, then I’m okay with his name being tied to it. It’s also been revealed that the movie is going to be called Superman, which I like. There has been a film called Superman: The Movie, but no Man Of Steel picture has just been called Superman. This report came to us via Geekosity’s Mikey Sutton, and I can’t wait to see it all come together.
As for Cavill, you can see him return as the Man Of Steel in Black Adam’s post-credits scene!
