It’s been revealed that The Batman 2 has been given the official go-ahead by Warner Bros. Discovery, which means that Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson can now get to work on the sequel. It was revealed a while back that Reeves was working on the sequel. However, it wasn’t officially given the green light by Warner Bros until recently.

The news that the second Batman movie is now in the works comes to us from The Hollywood Reporter which made a bunch of pretty big announcements in one big exclusive article all about upcoming DC Comics movies and TV projects. It sounds like it’s a really exciting time for DC Films, and I can’t wait to see what they end up giving us!

This news has been a long time coming. It was actually revealed that Matt Reeves was already working on the sequel back at CinemaCon. However, Warner Bros has been going through a merger and it was revealed that the movie was still not officially happening. Yet, it seems like David Zaslav and the other executives running WBD now want this movie to be put in the fast lane. That’s completely understandable, and I think it’s the correct decision.

The Batman, which was released in cinemas earlier this year, will end up being in my top five movies of the year. I’m pretty certain of that fact. It was bloody amazing, and I think that the likes of Reeves and James Gunn are the future of DC Comics movies and TV shows. They have to be, and Warners really needs them.

This all comes after we were informed that The Batman was going to get a trilogy. It seems as if those plans have been sped up also by Warner Bros Discovery.
