Michael Keaton Will Be Playing Batman In The Flash Movie

Michael Keaton as Batman in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman

It seems as though all those rumours that Michael Keaton wouldn’t be returning as Batman in The Flash movie were wrong, as it’s been revealed that he will be in the film.

This news comes from The Wrap who contacted Michael Keaton’s talent agency, ICM Partners, who confirmed the actor will return as Batman in The Flash.

This comes after there were many reports suggesting that Keaton was not going to be in the film after all.

Keaton did an interview with Deadline in which he revealed his worries about going to the UK to film the movie.

He stated that COVID-19 was a worry for him and how many cases there have been reported in the UK.

It does seem as though cases have been on the decline in the UK, but that could change given the fact that everyone’s going back to the pubs since they’ve been reopened.

Here’s what Keaton said at the time:

To be honest with you, you know what worries me more than anything about all this stuff? It’s COVID. I’m more concerned. I keep my eye more on the COVID situation in the UK than anything. That will determine everything, and so that’s why I’m living outside the city here on 17 acres, staying away from everybody, because the COVID thing has got me really concerned. So, that’s my first thing about all projects. I look at it and go, is this thing going to kill me, literally? And you know, if it doesn’t, then we talk.

It was revealed that Andy Muschietti starting filming The Flash in the UK yesterday.

So, this leads us to think that Keaton will be making his way over the UK pretty soon.

This news also brings an end to all the speculation that Warner Bros. Pictures might be trying to convince Christian Bale to return to play Batman in the movie.

Now, it’s going to be interesting to see how The Flash movie does with fans, critics and at the box office when it’s released.

I know that Warner Bros. Pictures will be hoping they end up with a winner on their hands.

They will want to replace Marvel’s success with The Flash.

That said, we’re now hearing from insiders over at Marvel that their upcoming The Eternals movie is the best film they’ve ever made.

This shouldn’t be a surprise given the fact that it’s directed by Chloe Zhao, who’s the current frontrunner to win this year’s Best Director Oscar for her work on Nomadland.
