Matt Reeves’ The Batman Might Feature Robin Alongside Robert Pattinson

There are rumours suggesting that Matt Reeves’ The Batman could end up featuring Robin alongside Robert Pattinson’s Batman.

It’s safe to say that the reaction to Robert Pattinson’s casting as Batman has been somewhat mixed. Some fans love the fact that he’s playing the Caped Crusader, and others just can’t seem to get beyond the fact that he was Edward in Twilight.

Now that the news of his casting has been made official, it’s now time to find out who else will be in the film, and one of those characters is apparently going to be Robin, also known as The Boy Wonder.

This rumour comes from Forbes who states that the DC Comics character is in the fray to be involved in the movie in some way, shape or form, yet it’s not clear how big a part he’ll have.

Forbes’ Mark Hughes also states that Commissioner Gordon and Alfred will also be in the film, but those two characters should be expected to feature in a Batman movie.

Robin, on the other hand, is a slightly less obvious one since Robert Pattinson’s Batman will be quite young, which means that Robin would be on the very youthful side.

Robin could feature in The Batman

We haven’t actually seen Robin in a Batman movie since Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin movie which came out back in 1997. Warner Bros. has shied away from bringing the character back to the big screen.

Some people may argue that Joesph Gordon Levitt played a version of the character in The Dark Knight Rises, however, I think most Batman fans would agree that Levitt’s version of the character is a very loose one.

It’s also not clear which version of Robin will feature in Matt Reeves’ film. There’s the likes of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Carrie Kelly or Stephanie Brown, and there’s no telling which one Reeves would be more attracted to.

I came up with a list of actors who would make interesting choices for Robin. I’d love to know who you’d cast in the role.

Meanwhile, why not have a read of our articles on the 5 actors who could play Catwoman in The Batman, the 5 actors who could play The Penguin in the movie, and the 5 movies you should watch if you still think Robert Pattinson won’t be a good Batman.

In the meantime, why not catch up on your Batman knowledge by reading the previous comics in the series, which you can purchase here! It’ll be worth your while, I promise.

Anyway, The Batman, or whatever it’ll be called, is scheduled for release on June 25th, 2021, but that could change in time.
