It’s been revealed that the right to The Punisher and Jessica Jones have now reverted back to Marvel Studios. This means that now all the movie and TV rights to the character used in the Marvel Netflix shows are back with Marvel Studios.

This is after Marvel kind of rented the rights to those characters to Netflix so that they could make those TV shows. Even though both The Punisher and Jessica Jones shows were cancelled a while ago, Netflix still technically had the rights to the characters for two more years following the shows’ cancellations. This is just how these sorts of deals work.

So, we now know that the movie and TV rights to Daredevil, The Punisher and Jessica Jones are now all back with Marvel Studios. There have been rumours that the likes of Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal will be returning to play their respective Marvel characters in the MCU.

So, what’s going to happen with these characters now? Well, there have been rumours that Krysten Ritter and Jon Bernthal will be returning as their Marvel Comics characters at some point in the MCU’s future.

We were told that Bernthal is definitely returning as Frank Castle in a future MCU property. Kevin Feige is reportedly a big fan of Bernthal in the role, and he’s also interested in bringing Mike Colter back as Luke Cage.

Therefore, we can assume that Krysten Ritter will also be returning as Jessica Jones in the MCU because she’s perfect in the role. She was brilliant in the Jessica Jones Netflix series.
