Has Lucifer Season 6’s Release Date Been Revealed By Netflix?

There are rumours that Lucifer Season 6 has been greenlit by Netflix, but have they really given it the all-clear, and when could its release date be?

One of the things you have to remember is that Netflix hasn’t officially announced Lucifer Season 6, which means we won’t have a release date any time soon.

This means that there’s no official release date yet.

However, there have been hints that Lucifer Season 6 is on the cards at Netflix.

The first thing is that Tom Ellis recently renegotiated his contract meaning that he can now star in a sixth season.

He was the only member of the show’s main cast who’s contract ended after Season 5.

This is a pretty big hint that Netflix is looking to make a Season 6.

However, they have to negotiate with Warner Bros. Television since they do still own the show’s rights.

Season 6 still isn’t official yet

This means that we’re going to have to wait until Netflix and Warner Bros. can sort things out.

Therefore, we’re going to have to wait sometime before Lucifer Season 6 gets an official release date.

Netflix and the show’s bosses had already made a big deal out of Lucifer Season 5 being the show’s last.

“We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms,” said showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich.

“Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come,” they finished.

It would be a bit of a strange thing for them to go back on that and say, “Oh, wait. There’s another season coming!”

I mean, it would be great news, but a bit of a PR nightmare.

However, I’m pretty sure all Lucifer fans wouldn’t mind and just be hella-excited to see the sixth season.

It would also mean that they might have to rejig Season 5’s ending slightly to make way for another season.

They had previously stated that they had come up with a great ending for the show, but another season would mean they’d have to change things a bit.

As for when will Lucifer Season 6’s release date will be on Netflix, that’s a pretty tough thing to try and answer.

We still don’t know when Lucifer Season 5 is going to end up on Netflix.

We do know that it’ll be released in two parts and that the whole season will consist of 16 episodes.

Ellis revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show in October 2019: “Season five… is going to be split into two halves. Netflix is going to drop eight episodes, then there’s going to be a little break, then another eight episodes.”

So, my best guess is that we won’t see Lucifer Season 6 for a while, maybe not until mid-to-late 2022.

As for Season 5, We already know that Tom Ellis will be back as the devilishly handsome Lucifer.

He’ll be joined by Lauren German back as Detective Chloe Decker.

Kevin Alejandro will also return as Detective Dan Espinoza, DB Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen and Scarlett Estevez as Trixie Espinoza.

Rachael Harris will also be back as Dr Linda Martin and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez.

The first part of Lucifer Season 5 should be with us sometime soon in 2020.

Maybe summertime this year, and then it should be followed up by Season 5 part 2 pretty quickly.

I would expect to see Lucifer Season 5 Part 2 towards the end of 2020.
