Lucifer Season 5 is going to be a pretty big deal when it finally lands on Netflix, and it’s looking like it’ll feature a bit reunion between God (played by Dennis Haysbert) and his two sons, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Amenadiel (B.D. Woodside).
The three of them were recently shot all together behind-the-scenes whilst filming the upcoming season of the Netflix show, and this should be proof enough that the reunion will happen in Season 5.
Lucifer doesn’t have the best relationship with his father. The show’s made that very clear over the course of four seasons.
God’s been a bit of an absent father, but hopefully, he’ll be making amens of that in this final season of the show.
We’ve already seen Lucifer’s mother and a few of his brothers in the show, but we still haven’t come face-to-face with Lucifer’s father, God.
Neil Gaiman had voiced God in Season 3 of the show before it was cancelled by Fox, however, the show’s casting directors and showrunners opted for have Haysbert play the man in the flesh.
God, Lucifer and Amenadiel walk into a bar in Season 5…
I would have liked to have seen Gaiman get a chance to show us whether he’d make a good God or not in the final season of the show, however, he’s not an actor.
Gaiman is a pretty interesting voice actor though, so many we’ll have to make do with him getting to voice God in the show.
As for how this grand reunion between God and his two sons will go down, that’s not certain.
I’m hoping it’ll be a happy reunion, but I’m not sure it will be at first.
It might end up being a rather sweet moment between the three of them though towards the end of the season.
