Locke And Key Season 1’s Ending Explained – Will Dodge Return In Season 2?

Locke and Key Season 1 landed on Netflix last month and its ending has already got people talking.

First off, I should warn you that there are SPOILERS for Locke and Key Season 1 in this article.

If you haven’t watched the show yet and don’t want to know how it ends, then I recommend you go away and watch it.

Then, feel free to come back and read this article and see whether you agree with my theory on which direction Locke and Key Season 2 will take.

Locke and Key Season 1 ended on a very big cliffhanger.

It was believed that the Locke siblings and their friends successfully managed to throw Dodge back through the ‘Black Door’.

However, it wasn’t actually the demon they threw through that door.

It was really Ellie they chucked into that strange place beyond the Black Door.

What’s behind that Black Door in Season 1?

They used to Omega Key to open it, and then Eden was struck by ones of those strange glowing rocks.

The series then ended with the massive reveal that Gabe was really Lucas in disguise.

Lucas is, of course, Dodge who is actually possessed by some sort of demonic spirit from beyond the Black Door.

It’s still not known what that place is and Season 2 of Locke and Key should explore that area a bit more.

I will admit that I haven’t read the comics, so there are probably answers in there.

I will definitely read then now, however, and I can’t wait to find out everything before Season 2 airs.

Locke and Key Season 1’s ending has set up Gabe and Eden as the show’s bad guys in Season 2.

This means that the Locke siblings will find out what really happened and they’ll probably go in search for more keys to battle them.

I cannot wait to see more keys. That was one gripe I had with the first season: not enough cool keys.

I’d like to see them explore the keys more and their powers.

I also really want to know what is beyond that Black Door and whether Ellie will make it back.

I’m pretty sure they’ll end up bringing Rufus into the picture a bit more.

He’s got an understanding of military tactics, weapons and traps and might come in handy in Season 2.
