Johnny Depp Denies He Engaged In ‘Destructive And Violent Behaviour’ Towards Amber Heard

The Johnny Depp vs. The Sun trial is kicking off and the Pirates actor denied he engaged in “destructive and violent behaviour” towards Amber Heard.

Depp is currently suing The Sun newspaper here in the UK for libel.

This story started back in 2018 when The Sun published an article by entertainment ‘journalist’ (I use that term very loosely) Dan Wootton.

In the article, Wootton was questioning J.K. Rowling’s decision to cast Depp as the villain Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

That was when Wootton referred to Depp as a “wife-beater”, and he has since completely denied these claims.

He’s now suing The Sun for libel, and yet they are standing by the article and claim that what Wootton wrote was “factually accurate”.

The case got underway this week and Depp said that he never regularity “engaged in destructive and violent behaviour” towards his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

This whole ordeal has been a difficult one for both actors as it looks like they’ve both lost roles because of it.

Depp was allegedly fired from the Pirates movies by Disney.

It also looks like Amber Heard may no longer be in the DC Comics movies are Mera.

There are also question marks on whether Depp will get to reprise his role as Grindlewald in the Fantastic Beasts movies, despite having Rowling’s backing.

Incidentally, J.K. Rowling is facing some criticism of her own after she posted what many people deemed to be a transphobic tweet.

We’ll keep you posted with any new development in the Johnny Depp vs. The Sun vs. Amber Heard saga.
