John Constantine Is Leaving Legends Of Tomorrow

OK, so this news is a bit complicated and I know that many of you will see the headline: “John Constantine is leaving Legends Of Tomorrow” and you might start to panic slightly.

That would be understandable because John Constantine is a huge part of the show and Matt Ryan is perfect in the role.

However, even though this news isn’t good, it’s not all bad because Deadline revealed that Matt Ryan isn’t actually leaving the show.

John Constantine is. Ryan will be playing a new character moving forward.

Yep, this is real telenovela stuff going on in DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

So, it’s been confirmed that Constantine will be leaving the show as Season 6 comes to an end.

It’s not clear whether he’s being written out of the show due to a creative decision or because of the HBO Max Justice League Dark show that’s coming.

However, Ryan will be sticking around as the new character Dr. Gwyn Davies.

Davies is described as “an eccentric scientist from the early 20th century, who might be the team’s only hope next season.”

The show’s executive producer, Phil Klemmer had this to say on the news:

While John Constantine’s arc on the show is coming to an end in season six, Matt Ryan’s journey with the Legends is not over.

Ryan himself had the following to say about the news:

As everyone who loves him knows, in the end, John Constantine will walk his path alone. The time has come for John to part ways with the Legends, and for me to part ways with John. I’m really excited to be creating this new role on the show and having some fun with it — discovering how this new character fits in and causes some trouble for the Legends.
