James Gunn Confirms Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Begins Production This Year

It’s been revealed by James Gunn that Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 will begin production this year, which is pretty exciting.

He actually revealed this news via his Instagram Stories in yet another one of his now-famous Q&A sessions with his fans.

A few years back, it was looking like James Gunn wasn’t going to get to direct the third Guardians Of The Galaxy movie.

He was fired from the film by Disney after some old tweets of his were unearthed and they didn’t make for nice reading.

However, he had apologized before for having posted those tweets, so it wasn’t like Disney didn’t know about them beforehand.

Thankfully, he was then hired back by Disney after it was revealed that Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films had hired the director to make the next Suicide Squad movie.

So, what happened during James Gunn’s recent Q&A session on Instagram Stories?

Well, a fan asked bluntly if Gunn knew when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was going to start production.

That was when Gunn replied with a simple, “Shooting starts later this year.”

This sounds very soon to me because Gunn’s already a pretty busy man these days.

He’s currently working on the Suicide Squad spinoff series, Peacemaker.

He started working on that series, which is coming to HBO Max, right after finishing The Suicide Squad.

However, it looks like he’s going to finish the Peacemaker series for HBO Max and then start work almost immediately on Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.
