OK, what on Earth is going on with Hotel Transylvania 4 on Amazon Prime Video? Why wasn’t the movie released back on October 1st? Let’s investigate.
So, Hotel Transylvania 4 was set to be released on October 1st.
Well, October 1st came and went and no Hotel Transylvania 4.
People – mostly parents – then took to Twitter to complain about the movie not being released.
Here’s what one person on Twitter had to say about the movie not being released on October 1st:
@PrimeVideo @SonyPictures WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?? Sony you disappointed children by not releasing #HotelTransylvania4 into theaters and then Prime YOU didn’t release it today like you were SUPPOSED to. My kid is bawling now. She has been looking forward to it for months she cried.

Interestingly enough, Amazon Help actually responded to this rather annoyed user.

So, what happened and why didn’t the movie come out when people thought it was going to come out?
It all has to do with the fact that Amazon purchased the movie from Sony Animation for just over $100 million.
Before the movie was bought by Amazon, its release date was October 1st.
However, once the film was bought then the release date was changed.

The issue was that Amazon never publicized a new release date for the movie.
This is why so many people were and still are confused about Hotel Transylvania 4’s release date.
The thing is that Amazon still hasn’t announced a new release date for this film.
Hopefully, it won’t be too long before the movie is released on Amazon Prime Video.
I would imagine that the film would be made available to Prime Video users towards Halloween.
It would make sense to release the movie close to October 31st.
