Henry Cavill will REPORTEDLY be returning as Superman in Man Of Steel 2! That’s the news, guys! That’s it! Nothing else to see here. You can now go off and enjoy your day secure in the knowledge that Cavill is back as Superman and will be back in a very big way in the DC Universe. The balance of power within DC Universe will never be the same, except that it will be because Cavill will still be Superman!
There have been so many column inches and website pages devoted to the question of whether Cavill will ever get to return as Clark Kent in the DC films. I’ve seen people claim that he is coming back, and other people claim that he’s not going to come back because he’s not too interested in returning and wants too much money to play the role again. Well, it seems as though Cavill and Warner Bros Discovery have finally come to an agreement. I’ve never believed for one second that Cavill didn’t want to play Superman again. I genuinely felt that he wanted to play the role until he couldn’t physically do it anymore.
Henry Cavill to return as Superman for Man Of Steel 2
Every time I heard Cavill being interviewed about it, he sounded passionate about the character and said that he would love to don the cape and suit again! I just think that Warner Bros. Pictures has been so poorly managed and organised for so many years that they just never got their act together and couldn’t find the right project for Cavill’s Superman. The studio has been scrambling to try and keep its DC Films branch going for so many years now, and it looks like – finally – they have all agreed that the best way forward is to stick with the actors they’ve got.
We already knew that Ben Affleck’s Batman was going to return in The Flash movie and also in the upcoming Aquaman sequel. It also seems as though they are sticking with the likes of Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and even Ezra Miller as The Flash. The only actor, now, that was part of the Justice League that doesn’t seem to be coming back is Ray Fisher who played Cyborg in the movie, and I think that he blew his chance to play the role by being so publicly critical of Warner Bros and its executives.
Dwayne Johnson was instrumental in Cavill’s return
Well, anyway, we are now getting a new report, courtesy of David Faraci, who’s the former editor-in-chief of the website Birth. Movies. Death., that Cavill will be playing Supes in a standalone Superman movie sequel. He revealed this during this news on the latest episode of his podcast, Marvelvision. He also gave a lot of credit to Dwayne Johnson for making it happen. Here’s what Faraci had to say on the matter:
I got some more information about this. It’s not, like, specific. It’s all behind-the-scenes stuff that I thought was kind of fascinating, which is that the reason why Henry Cavill has returned as Superman in Black Adam is because The Rock demanded it.
Like, he went hard, full-court press on Warner Bros. and made them go to Henry Cavill and they had to sign a new deal with Henry Cavill, including saying they were gonna develop a new Superman movie. And it was all because The Rock insisted.
He then added:
Not only is Henry Cavill gonna be in Black Adam, my understanding is they’re working on a Henry Cavill Superman movie.
