It’s being reported that Henry Cavill is being eyed by Marvel Studios from the role of Captain Britain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

This news comes from Mikey Sutton over at Geekosity.

It seems to be a bit of a running joke that I want the role of Captain Britain in the MCU, and that’s because it’s no joke.

It was always my dream to play Captain Britain ever since I first read the Alan Moore comic that he did with Alan Davis.

However, it looks like Marvel Studios is thinking of casting Henry Cavill in the role.

Here’s what Mikey Sutton had to say about Henry Cavill being eyed for the role of Captain Britain in the MCU:

When Henry Cavill’s future as Superman seemed uncertain, there were discussions at Marvel Studios of having him as Captain Britain. It didn’t go as far as negotiations, though. Nevertheless, Marvel Studios keeps a running list of actors that could match specific roles. Henry Cavill has been among them to play Captain Britain.

I’ve said it time and time again that I think Henry Cavill is a terrific actor.

However, he cannot be Captain Britain.

Why, you ask? Because that’s my role! It’s mine I tell you! Mine.

All joking aside, I genuinely think he would be perfect casting for the role of Captain Britain in the MCU.

Now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Marvel and Kevin Feige ends up going for.
