It’s been revealed that the director of Godzilla Vs Kong, Adam Wingard is going to be making a Face/Off sequel movie, which isn’t a bad film to remake actually. This news was revealed by Deadline.

Full disclosure, Face/Off is one of my real guilty pleasures. I loved the movie as a kid and I still love it today. There’s something about a John Woo movie starring Nicolas Cage and John Travolta which is utterly bonkers, but also utterly sane.

The movie is mad, but also makes perfect sense. Of course John Woo was going to direct a movie which stars Nicolas Cage and John Travolta in which the actors’ characters change faces.

It’s now been revealed that Adam Winguard is going to be directing the Face/Off sequel, and I like this choice. Winguard directed The Guest and You’re Next – two films that I love. OK, he also made that awful Death Note movie, but they can’t all be winners.

His next film is Godzilla Vs Kong, and the fact that Paramount Pictures has hired the director to make this Face/Off sequel film seems to indicate that they’ve been impressed by his latest film. Here’s what Deadline wrote about the movie:

Got some clarity on Adam Wingard’s plans for Face/Off. He is approaching the film as a sequel to the original hit film, as opposed to a remake as I had been told when I broke the story. But I believe the leads will be re-cast.
