It’s been revealed to us by sources reportedly close to Marvel Studios that talks between Marvel and Emily Blunt regarding the upcoming Fantastic Four movie have broken down.

The British actress was in the running to play Susan Storm in the movie.

However, it seems as though she just wasn’t comfortable signing a multiple picture deal with Marvel Studios due to the level of commitment they wanted from her.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have two children together, and our source informed us that Blunt didn’t think it would be a good idea to be moving the family around in order to star in these Marvel movies.

Here’s what the source told me, and I always make sure my sources are OK with being quoted directly before post my exclusive articles:

What I can confirm is that Emily Blunt has now ruled herself out of the running for Sue Storm in FF [Fantastic Four]. She was in talks with Marvel but opted not to sign the deal with them because it would have been for multiple films. She didn’t want to have to put her family through that.

I then asked the source about John Krasinski, and here’s what they had to say:

Things with Krasinski aren’t so clear. He has been in contact with Marvel for the role of Reed Richards. However, there still haven’t been any new developments. Yet, Blunt turning down the Sue Storm role might be indicative of what could happen with Krasinski. The idea was to have both of them in the movie as Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.

This is very disappointing to hear because they would have been perfect for the roles.

It does seem as though Marvel Studios is now moving away from the idea of casting Krasinski and Blunt in the Fantastic Four movie.

There are also rumours that Marvel Studios is looking to have a more diverse cast for the upcoming Fantastic Four film.

I’ve also been hearing that Marvel’s been looking at casting relatively unknown actors in the film, which would be interesting.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens with this movie which is going to be directed by Jon Watts.
