Has Castlevania Season 4’s Release Date On Netflix Been Revealed?

Have we finally been given an official release date for Castlevania Season 4 on Netflix, or will we have to wait a long time for the new season? This news was revealed via one of Netflix’s official Twitter accounts.

So, hopefully, Castlevania Season 4 will be even more bonkers than the previous three seasons of the show, which were pretty insane.

It’s easily, however, one of my favourite shows on Netflix, and I think it’s definitely the best video game adaptation ever made for the screen – big or small.

This third season of the show will see everybody’s favourite vampire slayer (although Buffy and Blade might have something to say about that), Trevor Belmont and Sypha try and adapt to a world without Dracula.

Given the way Season 3 of the show ended, it does look like Alucard might be the show’s new villain.

So, when will Castlevania Season 4 be with us?

Well, if you are to look at when Netflix announced the previous seasons of the show, then you might have noticed that their release schedule was a bit erratic.

Castlevania Season 1 was released on Netflix on July 7th, 2017. Season 2 landed on October 26th, 2018, and then Season 3 was dropped on March 5th, 2019.

Now, we didn’t get Season 4 in 2019, so it would be safe to assume that we should be getting the fourth season in 2021.

Netflix did reveal on March 27, 2020, that Castlevania Season 4 was happening.

There are a bunch of reasons why Season 4 might be taking a bit longer than the previous three.

The first reason is the global pandemic, which would have delayed the season slightly.

Then there’s the fact that each season has consisted of more episodes than the previous one.

So, Season 1 had 4 episodes. Then Season 2 had 8, and Season 3 had 10. It’s safe to assume that Season 4 might end up having 10 or more episodes, which would mean it would take a bit longer to make.

All we know at the moment is that Castlevania Season 4 is happening.

We have no plot synopsis and no real confirmation of which voice actors will be back.

We can assume that the like of Jason Isaac’s The Judge, Toru Uchikado’s Taka, and Rila Fukushima’s Sumi will remain dead for Season 4.

However, given the show’s supernatural background, who knows what could happen to these characters.

I’m pretty sure that Richard Armitage’s Trevor Belmont and James Callis’s Adrian Alucard Tepes will be back for Season 4, as well as Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Belnades mainly because they are the show’s three main characters.

Jaime Murray, Theo James, Alejandra Reynoso, Bill Nighy and Jessica Brown Findlay could also be returning for Season 4, but, that still hasn’t been confirmed as of writing this article.

The series is written by the incredible Warren Ellis, who also wrote a bunch of pretty strange novels and comic books, as well as some other rather odd shows. It’s going to be interesting to see how the show develops after they managed to get rid of Dracula towards the end of Season 1. However, Season 2 introduced a whole load of new threats, so I’m pretty sure Season 3 will be madder than ever.
