It’s being reported that a new Captain Britain series is in the works for Disney Plus over at Marvel Studios, which, as a Brit myself, is very exciting news. There have been rumours for quite some time now suggesting that Marvel might be looking at bringing the iconic superhero to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, we still haven’t heard any concrete news about the character being brought into the MCU yet.

This news comes to us via scooper My Time To Shine on X. She is a pretty good scooper when it comes to all things Marvel Studios. She tends to get most things right when it comes to her Marvel scoops, so this is very exciting news as far as I’m concerned.

There have been reports suggesting that Marvel Studios might be looking at the likes of Henry Cavill to play the role. However, I don’t think he would be a good fit for the role. He would look the part, but I think that we need someone a little bit different in the role. Now, this isn’t my personal pitch to play the role (although I’ve made no secret of my desire to be cast as Captain Britain in the MCU).

That said, it would be really interesting to see who Marvel ends up casting in the role and also what the studios have in mind. The fact that they are looking to bring him into the MCU via a series is an interesting way of introducing the iconic British superhero. I think that this could be a very important new era for the MCU, and they’re going to have to get the casting spot on.

Who could play Captain Britain in the MCU…?

I would also be interested in knowing whether Captain Britain is going to have more to do with the likes of Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman and Mahershala Ali’s Blade. Captain Britain is magical in nature in the comics, and was a Knight of Arthur’s Round Table, so it would be interesting to see Marvel really go down that route. More Knights and magic in the MCU…? I’m all for that!

What do you make of this news? Are you looking forward to seeing Captain Britain be brought into the MCU? Who would you like to see play the role? We’d love to hear your thoughts.

You can watch all MCU content on Disney Plus right now.
