Ava DuVernay’s New Gods Film ‘Put On Ice’ By WarnerMedia

It’s just been revealed that Ava DuVernahy’s New Gods has been put on ice by WarnerMedia along with James Wan’s Aquaman spinoff movie, The Trench.

This was revealed literally just now by The Hollywood Reporter.

At first, I thought that this might have been a very odd April Fool’s joke.

However, it’s actually happening, the HamadaVerse is falling apart. It’s crumbling.

Ava DuVernay was writing the New Gods film with Tom King and it sounds like they just couldn’t break the movie’s script.

They also revealed that James Wan’s The Trench was now being put on hold indefinitely.

This is not very good news for DC Films boss, Walter Hamada.

He was the one really pushing The Trench and also the New Gods movie.

Here’s what Ava DuVernay said in a statement she released via Twitter:

Tom, I loved writing NEW GODS with you. I’m upset that the saga of Barda, Scott, Granny, Highfather and The Furies ends this way. Diving into Kirby’s Fourth World was the adventure of a lifetime. That can’t be taken away. Thank you for your friendship. And remember… #DarkseidIs

Tom King then added:

Ava! I’m so incredibly proud of the work we did, it was such a joy seeing you bring your passion and talent to these characters. I really felt Kirby’s legacy was being honored here and I wish we could’ve kept going. That one Barda/Scott scene where…damn.
