Evangeline Lilly has publicly voiced her opposition to vaccine mandates.
As reported by Deadline, the star of the Ant-Man franchise took to social media to voice her opposition to COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
The post also revealed that she attended an anti-vaccine mandate in Washington D.C.
Evangeline Lilly becomes second Marvel actor to speak out against vaccines/vaccine mandates
In her Instagram post, she wrote:
I believe nobody should ever be forced to inject their body with anything, against their will, under threat of: violent attack, arrest or detention without trial, loss of employment, homelessness, starvation, loss of education, alienation from loved ones, excommunication from society under any threat whatsoever. This is not the way. This is not safe. This is not healthy. This is not love. I understand the world is in fear, but I don’t believe that answering fear with force will fix our problems.
This is the second instance of a Marvel actor voicing their opposition to vaccines after Letitia Wright voiced her opposition to vaccines in 2020.
It’s not clear if Lilly has been vaccinated herself.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has wrapped production.
Therefore, it’s possible that Lilly has been vaccinated, but just opposes the mandates that have been proposed.
However, after all the news reports concerning Wright’s stance on vaccinations, this is another headache Marvel could have done without.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit cinemas on July 28, 2023.
