It seems as though Amber Heard will be returning as Mera in Aquaman 2 after all after she posted a behind-the-scenes pic of her prepping for the role.
In the picture, Amber Heard could be seen reading a book on a film set.
She’s sporting Mera’s trademark red hair, which is one hint that she’ll be returning to the role.
However, that’s not the only clue Heard gives us in this post on her Instagram account.
The caption is also a pretty obvious hint and her getting ready to play Mera in Aquaman 2.
Her caption reads:
Before Aquaman took the last pages out of this book #gettingakindleforaquaman2 @prideofgypsies @aquamanmovie
OK, so I think this post is a sort of in-joke between Heard and Jason Momoa.

It seems like Heard might do a lot of reading on set, and the hashtag #gettingakindleforaquaman2 seems to be Heard saying that she’s going to buy herself a Kindle for the set of Aquaman 2.
I think that Momoa might have teased her about the number of books she brought onto the set of Aquaman.
So, she’s finishing off this book she’s reading and will then read everything else on a Kindle.
Makes sense to me, and this basically confirms that she will be returning to play Mera.
No, she hasn’t been fired from the movie. She hasn’t been replaced by Emilia Clarke.
She’ll be back as Mera on Aquaman 2 and things will carry on as normal in the DCEU.
