Adam Driver Set To Return As Kylo Ren In New Star Wars Film

It’s being reported that Adam Driver is currently in talks to return as Kylo Ren in Damon Lindelof’s new Star Wars movie, which I’m sure will get many fans out there very excited. This report comes to us via Giant Freakin Robot, and it sounds as though this upcoming Star Wars film is going to be harking back to the sequel trilogy in some way.

According to GFR’s report, the idea is to have Driver play a Force ghost version of Kylo Ren, aka Ben Solo, presumably to advise the hero(es) of the new story. This, I think, would be an interesting way to go, especially because Ben went through so much in the sequel trilogy, and his advise would be very welcome to the new set of Star Wars heroes.

This all comes after there were reports that Lindelof was keen on getting the likes of Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac back to star in these new Star Wars films he’s planning. Honestly, I think they should be brought back, even though there are some people out there who didn’t much care for the sequel trilogy.

However, I would argue that it wasn’t the actors’ fault, and I think their characters were well-rounded and deserve a bit more character development than they got in those films. I would also love to see John Boyega return as Finn, but we’re going to have to wait and see whether that ends up happening.

Moreover, unlike his sequel trilogy co-star John Boyega, Driver made it clear last November that he was more than willing to make a Star Wars return under the right circumstances. When Unilad asked him if he’d be averse to playing Kylo Ren, Driver answered, “No, I’m totally not against it. For me, it’s a filmmaker’s medium, so my only thing is working with great filmmakers.”

Should this new Star Wars movie focus on new characters?

I would also argue that there’s room to bring back Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. However, that said, if Andor has shown us anything, it’s that it’s time for the galaxy far, far away to focus on new stories and show us what’s happening in different parts of the galaxy. That series is truly the best we’ve seen from Star Wars in a very long time, and I think it’s the most grown-up and forward-thinking Star Wars content we’ve ever seen.

That said, the series didn’t perform all that well on Disney Plus, and there were some so-called Star Wars fans out there who liked to say that the series was boring. I couldn’t disagree with them more. I suppose I like my sci-fi slow, a bit like Blade Runner.

All episodes of Andor are available to stream on Disney Plus right now, as are the three movies in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

As long as the force ghost, that is trapped in the between worlds finds a way back to the land of the living. I am all for it.

Okay thank god u say that. I really want him to come back from the living so that he can renite with Rey. It may be my romantic side coming through but I so want them to have a chance to be a couple.
