Zack Snyder Is Working On Army Of The Dead 2
It’s been revealed that Zack Snyder is working on an Army Of The Dead sequel (otherwise called Army Of The Dead 2) for Netflix which is brilliant news.
This news comes to us from The Hollywood Reporter, but it was something that we first revealed back in March.
You can read our exclusive article on Zack Snyder working on Army Of The Dead 2 here.
The news was that Zack and Deborah Snyder had signed a two-year first-look deal with Netflix.
This means that they will be making a number of projects with their production company, Stone Quarry exclusively for Netflix.
In other words, they can pitch projects to Netflix and the streamer has the first right of refusal of the movie or TV show.
This is actually a really good deal for both Netflix and the Snyders because it basically means that they can both make films for Netflix and also pitch them to other studios if the streamer doesn’t go for it.
It also means that Netflix gets to have a first-look at all of their pitches before anyone else.
It’s a real, as Ann Sarnoff would put it, win-win situation.
Zack Snyder is making Army Of The Dead 2 for Netflix
Buried within that THR article is the news that they are already working on Army Of The Dead 2.
Netflix film head Scott Stuber, had this to say on their ‘first-look’ deal with the Snyders:
I’ve known Zack and Deb for years and was fortunate to be part of Dawn of the Dead, his first film. I have since had the privilege of watching his career grow and see the evolving impact of his work. To see him return to his roots with Army of the Dead, which is now one of our most popular films, and build a world out of these characters with the upcoming Army of Thieves and anime series, is amazing to see. We’ve only scratched the surface of what’s still to come and create with Zack, Deb, Wes and everyone at Stone Quarry.
And then The Hollywood Reporter’s article added the following:
Yes, Snyder will be spending more time in the Army-verse. On the docket is a sequel he is developing with the first movie’s co-writer, Shay Hatten, something he would tackle after Rebel Moon.
