WB Plans To Expand Their DC Films Into Their Own Multiverse

justice-league DCEU Multiverse Release distribution

It’s been revealed by DC Films’ overseer Walter Hamada that the Multiverse is coming to the DCEU and this will allow them to make all sorts of different films. This was revealed during an interview he did with The New York Times.

This was actually revealed at DC FanDome and also by Geekosity back in August. What DC Film’s Hamada said during the interview with The New York Times was that there will be multiple Earths in the DCEU. He specifically names Earth 1 and Earth 2.

He also added that The Flash was going to play an important part in bridging those Earths by bringing in the Multiverse and having the likes of Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck’s versions of Batman. The film is also rumoured to feature Linda Carter back as her version of Wonder Woman.

Here’s what Walter Hamada had to say during his interview with The New York Times regarding the Multiverse playing an important part in the future of the DCEU:

Boiled down, it means that some characters (Wonder Woman as portrayed by Ms. Gadot, for instance) will continue their adventures on Earth 1, while new incarnations (Mr. Pattinson as “The Batman”) will populate Earth 2.“The Flash,” a film set for release in theaters in 2022, will link the two universes and feature two Batmans, with Mr. Affleck returning as one and Michael Keaton returning as the other. Mr. Keaton played Batman in 1989 and 1992.

Earth one is home to the arrowverse, Batman 1989 is on Earth 89, and crisis on infinite earths established that those and the dceu are from the same multiverse; why change all that after everything they went through to set that up?
