Venom 2’s official title, which is Venom: Let There Be Carnage, has been widely mocked by Marvel fans of social media and they haven’t held back.

Honestly, when I heard this title for Venom 2 for the first time, I thought, “They can’t be serious?”

It’s a terrible, terrible name for this movie. It just sounds so silly and it’s proven to be very easy to mock.

Marvel fans took to Twitter soon after the name was revealed to mock Venom 2’s official title.

They really didn’t hold back either.

Some fans were very mean about the movie’s title and some were even a little bit angry.

I don’t really care about the movie’s title.

What’s in a name after all. However, sometimes there can be a lot in a name.

Take Birds of Prey for instance, or to use its full title Birds of Prey and the Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.

I’m actually one of the people who likes the film’s title, yet it proved to be a bit of a marketing nightmare.

Many people suggested the fact that Harley Quinn wasn’t the focal point of the film’s title was bad of the movie’s box office.

Venom 2’s title is not good

They ended up changing the film’s title to Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey in some cinemas because of it.

This might not end up being the case with Venom 2 however.

They’ve clearly made sure that both ‘Venom’ and ‘Carnage’ are in the title, so people know what the expect when going into the movie.

However, there are a whole load of other options to go for.

Venom: Maximum Carnage. Venom: Carnage Overload. Even Venom V Carnage would have been better.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage sounds like some kind of Funny or Die skit.

What do you make of Venom 2’s official title?

Do you think it’s as bad as I do?
