Quentin Tarantino Pitched A James Bond Movie To Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan revealed during a GoldenEye watch party that Quentin Tarantino pitched him a James Bond movie which would have been incredible.

First off, this GoldenEye watch party which was hosted on Esquire UK’s social media accounts was brilliant.

It was great getting to see Pierce Brosnan rewatch the movie with us.

He revealed that it was the first time he’d watched the movie since it was released in cinemas.

That’s nuts because it’s easily one of the best Bond movies ever made.

Anyway, during this watch party, he revealed that Quentin Tarantino had once pitched him a James Bond movie.

“It was after Kill Bill Vol. 2, and he wanted to meet me, so I went up to Hollywood one day from the beach, and I met him at the Four Seasons,” said Brosnan.

“I got there at 7pm, I like to be punctual. 7:15 came around, no Quentin, he was upstairs doing press. Someone sent over a martini, so I had a martini, and I waited till 7:30, and I thought, where the heck is he? Word came down, apologies, so I thought, okay, I’ll have another martini.”

Do you wish Quentin Tarantino got to make his James Bond movie?

Pierce revealed that Tarantino eventually arrived and then they had a few more apple martinis, and were soon pretty drunk.

“He was pounding the table, saying, ‘You’re the best James Bond, I wanna do James Bond,’ and it was very close quarters in the restaurant and I thought, please calm down, but we don’t tell Quentin Tarantino to calm down,” said Brosnan.

Pierce then revealed that he then told his bosses about Tarantino’s ambitions to make a Bond movie, however, sadly it never happened.

“He wanted to do James Bond, and I went back to the shop and told them but it wasn’t mean to be,” Brosnan concluded. “No Quentin Tarantino for James Bond.”
